About Erta Ale Volcano

Erta Ale is one of only five permanent lava lakes on Earth. Standing at 613 meters high, this shield volcano in the Danakil Depression offers a rare glimpse into the Earth's molten core. The trek to the rim takes 2-3 hours and rewards you with spectacular views of the glowing lava lake.
