About Arba Minch

Welcome to Arba Minch, which means "Forty Springs" in Amharic, named for the abundant groundwater that bubbles up at the base of the Rift Valley escarpment. This is one of Ethiopia's most beautiful and under-visited destinations. You will stand on the Bridge of God, a narrow 2-kilometer land bridge separating the red waters of Lake Abaya from the blue-green waters of Lake Chamo. You will take a boat trip on Lake Chamo to the Crocodile Market, where dozens of massive Nile crocodiles bask on a sandbank. You will visit the Dorze people, famous for their beehive-shaped bamboo houses and handwoven textiles. At Monpays Tours, we offer a perfect 2–3 day escape from the main tourist circuit. Celebrate 20 years with the beauty of the southern Rift Valley.
